This past weekend and weigh in

So I haven’t updated this much, because this past weekend literally handed my butt to me. 

It was festival weekend, so two 16 hour days at work really takes a toll on your body. As does shitty food. We call this week the “hangover” week, and it’s not from the excessive drinking that took place after the festival was done. It’s because your body feels constantly hungover after two days of just eating pizza, chips, soda and just crap food in general.

While I ate like crap, the physical aspects of working the festival are great. You lift kegs, fencing, break down and set up tables. I worked coat check for most of it, so running coats back and forth also means you moving around constantly. I definitely woke up Sunday feeling sore.

But I went to the gym. I had a moment of “damn I really wish I could stay in bed,” but I pushed through that. I ran 2.5 miles at the gym, instead of 3 because I was tired, but I ran those 2.5 miles in 25 minutes. I’m just a little bit closer to hitting my 5K in 30 minute mark. I stretched out, did some ab exercises, lifted some weights and went back home to eat a salad and a side of yogurt.

I was so energized after that, that I ended up walking to my boy’s place (3 miles away) to see him later on. He told me to call him when I got tired… and I called him when I was outside his house 40 minutes later. It was a great feeling. 

I forgot to post my last week weigh in… I’m down a pound to 141!

While it doesn’t seem like much, the amount that I’m working out and the switch to healthier foods has definitely made me feel better. Plus… from Thursday to yesterday.

I’m planning on going to the gym again today, to hopefully run 3 miles. I’m still sore from this weekend, so we’ll see what happens.
