Time for a Cleanse…

So, my boyfriend and I have been talking for MONTHS about doing a clean eating cleanse, and yesterday we made it a reality.

We grocery shopped and we planned. And day one is in full throttle.

He said he had done this cleanse before – years ago – so we will see how it actually pans out. I’m doing it a little bit more strict that he is, and cutting out coffee and beer for the next 14 days.

The coffee thing, is killing me.

But, from what I gather from this cleanse, it’s a high fiber, low sugar, low calorie, lean protein cleanse. I’m a little scared, but I’m totally up to the challenge of finding new ways to cook clean.

I’ve heard it get’s easier and less strict as it goes on, but today this is what is on the menu:

-two hard boiled eggs

-one whole apple

-one cup of celery and carrots (raw)

-one cup of broccoli and cauliflower(raw)

-one handful of extra lean ground turkey cooked with cilantro/parsley/arugula

-as much water as you can drink

How i plan on diving this up is

Breakfast -> one hardboiled egg, half an apple

lunch-> one hardboiled egg, half an apple, celery and carrots

snack -> celery and carrots

dinner-> ground turkey patty side of broccoli and cauliflower

Should only be like this for the first 5 days. We’ll see what happens. I’ll keep you updated.

Also on the schedule – 2 mile run after work. I know eating this little isn’t sustainable, but what I really want is all the crap that i’ve been eating to get out of my body, and allow my boyfriend and I to eat a lot healthier than we have been. We’ve both hit our limit, and he said my running and eating healthier has inspired him a bit 🙂

Have you ever done a cleanse before? How did it work out for you?
