So, as some of you may know I am running the Spartan Race Time Trials at Fenway Park this November. I’m super pumped.
As part of the “Spartan Community” I get WOD’s in my inbox every single day – some are endurance runs, some are HIIT, some are just downright brutal. But one of the first one’s I received was called The Spartan 300.
Terrifying.
So today, as a company workout group, we decided to take on the 300. And we completed it. I was the only girl that stuck it through this work out. It was hard. I didn’t stop. No one made any excuses for me. We did it.
This is what we did:
——————–
Partner Drill Warm Up: Plank and 100 Yard Sprint. Four times through. Partner Stretch. Sampson to Surfer.
The 300
- 400 Meter Run
- 10 Jumping Jacks
- 10 Push Ups
- 10 Para Troopers
- 10 Crunches
- 10yrd Bear Crawl
- 10 Jumping Squats
- 10 Stationary Crab Twists (5 per side)
- 10 Burpees
- 10 Bicycles
- 10 Heisman’s
Rinse, Lather, Repeat and finish with a 400 meter run.
———————
This means, after three times through we did 300 reps and ran a mile. Spartan Race gave an estimated time for the workout at 20 – 40 minutes.
As a team, we completed it in 25:00.
I’ve never been happier to have sweat dripping in my eyes, yelling out rep counts, and having red stains all over my hands and knees (from doing pushups/burpees/crabtwists on a track).
And we got to yell out “THIS IS SOUTH BOSTON” a couple times when we ran around the track… and that’s just an epic way to start your day, don’t you think?
