Went on what I thought was going to be a 5 mile run yesterday… or well, what turned out to be a 4.5 mile run and 1 mile walk.
My friend and I were running around Southie and after we finished a loop around Castle Island, I felt like someone was stabbing my brain. I told her before that I wasn’t feeling well, but that I was going to try to push through it.
I couldn’t. I just stopped and walked.
We kept a pretty good pace, but having to stop and walk because it felt like someone was digging a knife through my brain was awful. I knew I could keep on going, but my head wasn’t dealing with it.
Ended up running the last mile and a half back on L Street.
Finished 5.5 miles in 59 minutes. Blah.
Here were my splits:
Mile 1: 8:58
Mile 2: 9:10
Mile 3: 10:26 (when my head started hurting)
Mile 4: 16:40 (walking)
Mile 5: 8:48 (finish strong)
Got home, showered, made dinner and curled up in bed.
We’ll attempt this same run next week. I want to see this time drop dramatically (I also don’t want to die). I’m supposed to hear back from my doctor sometime today – so we’ll see what my body is freaking out about.
