Holy moley it’s been a few months…

I can’t believe I haven’t been on here in so long! The past couple of months got away from me, but here’s a QUICK update.

April 5th: Did I tell you that I randomly signed up to do the Spartan Race Super Las Vegas? No? Well, it’s because I got a little crazy and said “I’m already going to be in Las Vegas for work, so I might as well race there, too!” Goal of the LV Super was just to finish and have fun – I wanted to make sure I didn’t hurt myself for the Nike Women’s Half DC at the end of the month! Here are some cool pictures from that race:

April 13th: I ran 13 miles with One Run for Boston! Originally it was only supposed to be 10 miles – so I thought it would be a perfect training run for the DC half. They ended up switching up the course at the last minute, and tacking on an additional 3 miles. When it’s reaching 70 outside and all the water fountains aren’t turned on, those 3 miles are painful. I bonked HARD at mile 9, I was out of water and I went into “let’s not kill yourself over this” mode. I slowed down and took it all in. When we got to the Mass Ave bridge, we all gathered and crossed the bridge as one large group. We then stopped again before the Boston Marathon Finish Line and a group of survivors carried the baton across the line. I cried and I kissed the finish line, in a photo and footage that went ALL over the world.  Here are some pictures of that experience:

April 27th: FINALLY, the Nike Women’s Half DC. By this point, no matter how much energy I had tried to conserve throughout the month, I was still tired. My legs were still a little sore and getting up in teh morning was a task. However, I got to run this run with my friend Sydney, and it was her first half and it was a LOVELY ladies weekend in DC. The course was beautiful, Nike did a ridiculously good job at everything (from the expo, starting area, bag check, finishers area). It was a wonderful weekend and I hope to do it again next year.

So that’s a quick recap of what I’ve been up to – my next post will be about my newest adventure.. the Healthworks #workplacewarriorchallenge and marathon training.

Don’t worry, I won’t forget about you! As you can see, most of April I was flying by the seat of my running shorts!
