This week kicks off week 1 of the Healthworks Workplace Warrior Challenge!
Yesterday I had my body assessment, which will serve as a benchmark. I’m not going to lie, I was surprised at a lot of things that came out of that… mainly how high my bodyfat was. Here I am thinking because I run, and am active and that I don’t look “fat”, that I don’t have body fat. I’m training for a marathon, and thought I was in the best shape that I’ve been. Turns out, fat can be anywhere.
Here are my benchmarks:
- Weight: 149lbs
- Body Fat Percentage: 35% (say WHAT?!)
- Body Fat Mass: 55 lbs
Today we had our first team workout… and holy hell, it was a GREAT workout. Granted, I’ve really just been running by myself, so I had a lot of fun working out with 7 other ladies. The circuit was:
- Pushups
- Jumping Jacks/Jump Rope
- Single leg press (25 lbs total)
- Mountain Climbers
- V-Sits
- Wood Choppers (10lbs)
- Rows (25lbs total)
- Squat Presses (20 lbs total)
We did that 3 times and then cooled down. Holy moley, did I break a sweat!
My plan is to try to go to some lunch time classes throughout the week, and mix it in with my marathon training. Tomorrow calls for a 6 mile morning run, and thursday I think I’m going to do a 6AM BodyPump class.
Yup.
6AM.
I’m also thinking of taking a lunchtime spin class on Friday… thoughts?
Can’t wait to see how much improvement I can squeeze in, in just 4 weeks!
