Wednesdays are chaotic.
So, I want you to take a second to focus on the one thing that you can always control – your breath.
Set aside five minutes to sit by yourself in silence, close your eyes, and focus on your breath – each inhale and each exhale.
Place one hand on your chest, and one hand on your belly. On your inhale, focus on filling your belly/diaphragm with air. On your exhale, slowly feel your belly sink back towards your spine.
Hand on your chest? That’s to make sure you are not taking a shallow breath and just “chest” breathing. Feel your heart beat with that hand, and recognize how you relax as you focus on your inhale and exhale.
If you need something to fill in your mind, to keep it from wandering during your practice, I want you to focus on this:
That breath you just took? It was a gift.
