Then & Now

“I love the person I have become, because I fought to become her”

In 2012, I was exhausted.
My default face was the one pictured. That screenshot actually came from a VIDEO that I STILL can’t bear to watch. I went on CAMERA with that scowl.

In 2012, I decided I had enough. I wanted to make a change
I signed up for my first 5K.

I had no idea what I was doing (which you can see… I wore a race shirt DURING the race).

But I finished.

Every single day, I have worked to be a little bit better. I worked my way from Ramen Noodles, to Spaghetti Squash and from 5Ks to marathons.

I worked on my self… because we all know you cannot serve from an empty cup.

It isn’t easy.

Five years later, my face isn’t always in a scowl.
I smile.
I work hard, and understand that change comes with discomfort.
I want you to realize that YOU can do it… and that I’m here to help you every step of the way.

Whether it’s on a rower or in one of my online challenge groups, I want you to know that I’ve got your back.

I still have a couple more spots left in my upcoming challenge group – so if you are ready to make a change, all you have to do is reach out.

Snow Daze

Snow days are not “excused” when you’re an adult… 😂😂😂

With #beachbodyondemand all I had to do was push play on one of over 500 different workouts and BOOM!

I chose 21 Day Fix #Yoga today, to help stretch out all those shoveling muscles! Felt AMAZING to move and stretch today for SURE.

I’ve got 3 more spots left in my upcoming 21 Day Challenge Group that starts next week! If you’re interested – let me know!

2017

2017.

I can’t believe we are here.

I started this blog 5 years ago, as a way to keep myself accountable in my journey to healthy. 5 years later, I’ve completed 2 marathons, 5 half marathons, countless 10k’s and 5k’s and am now at a different part of my journey.

I took another plunge straight out of my comfort zone at the end of 2016.

I became a TRX Bootcamp instructor at Turnstyle Cycle (Kendall Square), and a Fixx Instructor at SweatFixx – a new rowing focused studio in Wakefield, MA. On top of that, I’ve decided to kick up my Beachbody coaching business.

Why?

Because I’m passionate about watching people learn to love themselves. Watching a client go through class and struggle with a set – only to see the determination in their face the next time they come in, and then watching them CRUSH what they couldn’t do before is AMAZING. Having someone come up to me and say “I was able to catch up with my kid today, and I wouldn’t have been able to do that without you” is one of the best things I can have anyone say.

So 2017 will be a little bit more reflective on here of that. I’m still recovering from my stress fracture.  I still haven’t been cleared to run yet. But that’s ok. I’m at peace with it. I’ve found that I can see have that training cycle, with cross training, Core De Force, PiYo, TRX, Spinning and Rowing. I found that community that I was missing at the studios where I teach, and the team that I am a part of.

Here’s my promise to you. I will always be here for you, and my resolution for 2017 is just to be a little bit better than I was yesterday.

And with that – I also promise to blog a little more 😉

TGIF, y’all!
