I ran at 5:50 am, in the pouring rain. And because it’s Boston, the sun is coming out now.
It was pretty awesome running around the Charles in the pouring rain. I felt like nothing could stop me.
It was a slowish run, 3.7 miles in 30 min. But it got done. I got out of bed and made myself run, even though it was pouring.
Tomorrow is long run day – last long run before the 10K!
It’s summer time, and my works Friday morning workouts are back!
Also, if you are not on the east coast, you might not know that at 7:15AM today the temp was around 80ish degrees.
I ran a mile warm up with a 15 lbs backpack. Then the rest of the crew showed up and we headed into our workout
Warm up: Hip Hop dynamic stretching warm up
Tabata: 20 seconds work/10 second rest
- Jumping Jacks – 8 rounds
- Planks – 6 rounds
- Body Squats & Lunges – 6 rounds
- Arm raise push ups – 6 rounds
Sprints: Tennis Ball Shuttles.

New addition to my desk. Tomorrow I run my first race after the Marathon Monday bombings. I will cross that finish line. I am not going to promise that I won’t cry. I won’t even tell you that I’m not nervous about being in a super big crowd again.
But I’ll be there. I’ll run. I’ll finish.
